Friday!

Today marks one full week in Poland. Oddly enough my life here feels completely normal now. We've gotten into the routine of class, cooking lunch and dinner, and possibly venturing to the grocery store every other day or so. The four of us (Darcy, Sam, Scott and I) have become a small family. We share meals and cook them together, shop and do our homework together. It's not that we aren't independent but we like to depend on each other more. The company is nice. The last two days have been simple, we wake up early and tired, walk to class, learn and practice polish for four hours, walk home, cook lunch, and relax before dinner and homework. We ventured into the market right outside of our apartment and it looks like we will probably be doing most of our small shopping there. There are small bakeries, little butcher shops, a few florists, spice merchants, women selling home grown vegetables and some fruits, and even clothing venders. There's also a small stall where a man cooks kebabs and kielbasa all afternoon. We finally found a souvenir shop that sells postcards but we still haven't found the post office. Tomorrow we'll search after brunch.

We've gotten to be pretty proud of the meals we cook for ourselves. We've made spinach, garlic, and Brie stuffed chicken, fried zucchini, bruschetta, and lots of pasts. Tonight we're making hamburgers and tomorrow we're making pancakes, eggs, and mimosas for brunch before we venture to the Jewish quarter of Kraków and tour it on our own. I promise to take lots of pictures and write about it tomorrow evening.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!
